…Master a vast field of knowledge, not only Russian literature but the literature, art, and music of many national traditions, both western and eastern?

(Probably not, right? Seems like a lot of reading.)

Will you…

…Cultivate a reputation as a devoted teacher who has worked unceasingly to bring students to the peak of their potential?

(Hmmm, that would probably take more time than you have, with Thanksgiving coming and all.)

Will you…

...Develop the gift of witty banter, the ability to constantly amuse and occasionally provoke belly laughs, just a bit off-color and once in a while doing a pitch-perfect Russian accent?

(It seems like the easiest one so far, but let’s face it, you’re really not that funny and the accent thing can be kind of Yakov Smirnoff if you’re not an expert.)

What is left for you, then, as you seek to emulate David Schatz on December 1?
